Guess What?

We were at a beach and as it’s always synonymous with all beach parties we decided to go for photoshoots (of course memories has to be preserved)
This particular babe took hold of my hand and said Dínné, ‘’let’s go a little further nau let’s feel this water the more’’. Then I reminded her of the cautions we were given as part of the orientation for the event; you know we are not supposed to … I know (she cuts in) just a little further, ok? Alright.

A little further we went and we kept on going, the onshore camera kept on clicking. Her words still echoes; ‘’just a little further, a little further’’.
Thank you, that’s enough, let’s go back. I pulled her gently and we started waddling through the waters. Like a flash, a mighty wave caught us napping. I docked but the wave snatched her from me.
Without a thought, I dived in after
her, caught the edge of her skirt, I said to myself ‘’I ain’t letting you go. The wave dragged us deeper into the sea, then I went blank.

I was getting weaker for lack or want of air, it was as if the air is being snuffed out of me. I remembered saying to myself ‘’this is not the end, no nau! I still have so many unfinished works. This can’t be the end for me’’
While in that self-thought, I felt the hand of a ‘’Huge Marine Officer’’ alongside his other colleagues pulling me out and with a Com-Set, he Radioed to the others (We‘ve got Him and the Lady).

I found myself onshore again, opened my eyes, surrounded by almost everyone that went to the beach with us. I asked what happened and one of my guys said ‘’Guy you were gone, water don carry u finish, it was a counter wave that brought you guys back’’.
But what were you thinking when you dived in trying to rescue that babe?
Mehn! I wasn’t just thinking o, it just happened and I was glad it did.

GUESS WHAT?
I woke up, I just woke up.
I am lying on my bed in the comfort of my home zone, the sunrays peeping from the window and meandering itself through the curtains. A peck on my check, Happy Birthday Mon Cherie, God bless the day you Graced this world with your presence.

Wow! It’s the 23rd of May and as synonymous with every other 23rd of May. It’s MY BIRTHDAY.

LOL.
