PMB's 2015 Foreign Trips

2015 was the year Nigerians witnessed a dynamic change, a rare substitute on the political field of play since her independence in 1960. A ruling party democratically handing over to the opposition party after a general election - a rare change.

Well, the issue of
CHANGE is a big theory on its own now, a discuss for another day. Focus is on the foreign trips of the Change Mantra Mafia since May 29, 2015.

Like Emeka's Industry Diary, I decided to do this rough compliation of President Buhari's foreign trips in 2015 right after the May 29 inauguration as the 18th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

President Buhari has so far travelled out of the country seventeen times since inaguration as the President on May 29. Since June, there is no month that the President did not travel out of the country on official engagement. Though, several times, the President was been represented by his Vice, VP Osinbanjo.

If you will recall the rants on Twitter that the President spends most of his time abroad and visit Nigeria to rule. This crtiticism was based on the state of the economy and the continuous drop of the oil price on the international market should not continue to fund the foreign trips of the President and his aides.

The President, travelled out of the country four times in June, three times in September and November, twice in July and December, once in August and October.

In June, shortly after his inauguration, the President travelles to Niger Republic and Chad for consultantion on how to tackle terrorism within the region. Still in June, travelled to Germany for G7 summit and later to South Africa.

In July, there was a 4-day visit to the U. S. Later in July, visited Cameroon. August witnessed just one visit to Benin Republic.

In September, a one day visit to Ghana followed by a 3-day visit to France, and to New York for the U. N 70th anniversary.

New Dehli, India was the only foreign trip in October. In November, PMB travelled to to Teran in Iran. Not forgetting the Malta trip also in this month before another trip to Paris.

December came with a visit to South Africa and another trip to Benin Republic.

There you have it, all the trips abroad, seveenteen times.
If you notice, I started each trip with the aim and stopped after the Germany trip. T clearly state the aim of each trip will ressurect the issue if the trips are worthy or not. Diversion is not what I will want since the aim is to write on PMB's 2015 trip and not to justify eact trip.

As 2016 trickle down, I believe we will have cause to revisit the 2015 trips.
